stopped use of non-essential advertising products such as brochures and product postcards from november 1, 2008 (any remaining ones date from before that time)
cellophane bags only used to protect clothing and vintage or light fabrics and reused when possible (for other packaging when items sold and as garbage bags when no longer suitable for packaging and display purposes)
paper bags available for purchases at markets etc., but only on request. these are not printed with any logo, thus reducing the use of printing inks
as much as possible else seven avoids printing, uses double-sided printing and re-uses paper printed on one side only
our business cards are printed on environmentally friendly paper
reduce waste
leftover fabrics from personal projects and everyday bag manufacture are used in the production of other else seven products
fabrics rescued from people who have bought and not used them are used in the production of else seven products to prevent them being thrown away
small pieces of fabrics left from cutting are kept for purposes such as stuffing else seven dolls and for future appliqué and patchwork projects
recycle
vintage and upcycled fabrics feature in many else seven products
upcycled jewellery items such as beads feature in else seven products
else seven uses vintage patterns
vintage buttons and trims used in some else seven products
transparency
else seven children's products are clearly labelled with the amount of new, recycled, upcycled, rescued and vintage fabric used, so the consumer can choose accordingly
other
else seven does not have any private company or personal car or other fuel-run vehicle
else seven is a home-run business therefore does not have the extra environmental cost of office space
else seven chooses to opt for secondhand, salvaged and recycled items for her office as much as possible
else seven has been personally engaged in various charity/environmental projects such as educational charity, gift-giving initiatives and carbon-reduction enterprises
else seven is switching over to eco-friendly washing powder for preparing fabrics for use
